New Zealand’s largest travel insurance provider, Allianz Global Assistance, has continued to boost its sales and account management team to build on its ongoing commitment to supporting retail partners.
This enhancement marks the latest stage of a strategic restructure that commenced last year and is focused on reinvigorating AGA’s operations, including refining the local call centre and medical support team. During this review, 11 new roles have been established, including three within the sales team.
The latest appointment to the team is Selina McGowan, who will take up a sales account executive position on 29 March. Working in the travel industry for nearly two decades, most recently representing companies in Australia and the Pacific Islands, Selina has built up solid reputation and fostered quality relationships within the local industry.
Selina’s appointment follows the recent hiring of Mike van Beekhuizen and Harriet Upchurch. Mike joined the team in February as the national sales manager and is working with retail travel agents across NZ to increase business growth. Harriet has come on board as the ecommerce sales and marketing manager, and is advising a number of AGA’s key partners on their travel insurance marketing strategies.
Overseeing these appointments, AGA’s chief sales officer Will Ashcroft says: “Our business in New Zealand is performing at an incredible level, reporting a 20 per cent increase in growth last year. With such significant growth comes the need to review all aspects of our operations to ensure we are providing the best level of service to all of our partners.
“We strive to provide a high level of service to all of our clients. Our policy is to respond to every incoming quote enquiry within 24 hours, and these new appointments will allow us to continue meeting this objective.”
Selina and Mike join the well-established sales and account management team comprising of Lindsay Stott, Dominique Trueman, Mark Taylor and Will Ashcroft. Harriet will work closely alongside them to improve key partners’ online performance and to support their consumer facing campaigns. The expanded team will offer a greater level of support to its retail partners.
