Allianz Global Assistance New Zealand Limited entered the New Zealand market trading as Allianz Global Assistance in 2010 with just one employee. As we grew in size and expertise, our innovative and customer-centric ethos allowed us to win new partners and expand our market share.
In 2013, we acquired Comprehensive Travel Insurance (CTI). CTI had a rich and successful history in New Zealand dating back to 1973 which included working with some of New Zealand’s leading brands. The acquisition was seen as a perfect fit for our business. It merged the proven experience and long running relationships earned by CTI, with the innovative approach and global scale of Allianz Assistance.
The Allianz Partners Group was formed as the Allianz B2B2C specialist in 2014 to support evolving customer needs and demands. Customers were becoming increasingly mobile and connected, demanding the same of the products they purchased. Business partners were expanding internationally, demanding increased global capacity and looking to differentiate their own offers with value-added solutions.
Allianz Partners combined the forces and expertise of its globally recognised commercial brands - Allianz Automotive, Allianz Assistance and Allianz Care. While their fields of focus were different, the commercial brands, and the teams that drove them, shared a common mission and set of values; a commitment to continuous innovation, a geographical reach, the ability to meet partners’ global demands, and a truly customer-centric approach.
In 2016, our New Zealand company, Allianz Global Assistance New Zealand Limited changed its name to AWP Services New Zealand Limited so that we could best serve our local partners while leveraging the global expertise and resources of Allianz Partners. We marked the occasion by moving into our new premises, Allianz House, in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore.
